What we offer
This Financial Support Program supports SMEs in contracting External Service Providers to help them develop solutions that use downstream space technologies to improve environmental impact (space-enabled green solutions) or even adopt commercially available ones, contributing to the transition towards more sustainable and circular business innovation practices, processes, and partnerships.
This Open Call targets companies that are interested in using downstream space data to create solutions that have a positive environmental impact, either:
For the company itself
E.g., by improving current internal processes to minimize resources, waste, pollution, etc.
OR
For their users
E.g., by developing products/ services for better resource management, environmental monitoring, etc.
The program can fund projects spanning from ideation all over to final-stage solutions

Who can apply
SMEs* based in EU members States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries that can demonstrate their potential to leverage downstream space data, such as EO, remote sensing, satellite navigation to cut environmental footprint.
*Applicants must comply with the EU definition of an SME. The key criteria are:

Fewer than 250 employees

Annual turnover not exceeding €50 million or annual balance sheet total not exceeding €43 million

The program places a particular focus on supporting solutions in areas such as:
Improvement of circularity, resource efficiency, and waste management
Safe, resource-efficient, and environmentally friendly management of primary, secondary, and critical raw materials
Improved environmental monitoring

FAQs
A quotation is a written offer from an External Service Provider that specifies the price, scope and conditions of the service to be provided. Quotations are used to demonstrate that the proposed service and cost are clear, justified and represent best value for money. They should be sufficiently detailed to show what service will be delivered and at what cost.
The 2nd Open Call includes one cut-off date before the final closing deadline. This allows for two evaluation batches:

Cut-off date: 28 February 2026 (17:00 CET). Applications submitted by this date will be evaluated in the first round. Successful applicants will be onboarded in March 2026.

Final deadline: 31 March 2026 (17:00 CET). Applications submitted after the first cut-off will be evaluated in the second round. Successful applicants will be onboarded in April 2026.
The submission platform will remain open and continue accepting applications until the final deadline on 31 March 2026 (17:00 CET).
No, not as a standalone purchase. FIERCE FSTP vouchers are intended to fund services, not products or equipment. A product may only be eligible if it is strictly necessary for delivering an eligible service and is inseparably linked to that service (for example, a software app required to provide a specific technical service).
In all cases, the cost must be justified, proportionate and represent best value for money. Standalone product purchases are not eligible.
If in doubt, applicants are encouraged to seek clarification before applying, as final eligibility depends on the grant agreement conditions
